This guy had the time and inclination to wire up a Wii nunchuk to his PC in order to lean left and right while playing... BY STRAPPING IT TO HIS HEAD!

if you read the whole article (or the last bit of it) his buddy did the same thing but simply removed the accelerometer from the nunchuk, and installed it into his headset.

Now that is more genius, less geek.

I saw this used a couple years ago when the wii first came out, and heard rumblings that something like this was going to be put into production of some sort for some gaming system (i could only assume the wii). But have not heard much of it since.

I wonder if you could modify a mouse to sit on some sort of pivoting platform and mount the accelerometer into it. That way you just lean your mouse from side to side instead.

Hmm....I have a buttload of mice laying around, but no Wii remotes I'd sacrifice.
